The AdAstrA Research Group, Ltd technical support service warns about some negative effects of several PC energy saving modes ( green modes) over TRACE MODE 6 runtime modules working continuously in real time mode.
Some «green modes» of modern PC set in the operation system and in the BIOS, may turn off key PC systems, crucial for correct operation of the TRACE MODE runtimes (e.g. hard disk drives, network adapters, ports, etc.). It may result in disabling some TRACE MODE real time systems or even to the system halt after several days of the safe continuous operation.
In this regard the AdAstrA technical support service strongly recommends pay attention on tuning the green features of user PC’s in the OS and in the BIOS in order to avoid turning off the equipment and lowering its performance. The screen turn off mode is allowed only!
Starting from the release TRACE MODE 6.08 will automatically detect and block the most harmful effects. In the current TRACE MODE 6.07.7 release the negative effects of PC green modes is logged in the tm6_log.txt file by messages, containing the following code:
xxxx 00000512[65535] extended error
Note! If the task is ended by the Windows Task Manager, this message will not be written. In order to get this diagnostic message please stop the TRACE MODE runtime in normal way and check the file tm6_log.txt.
In case if such message is written in the file, check settings of the PC operating system and BIOS and turn off the energy saving options as described above.

AdAstrA Research Group, Ltd made available an external driver for Micro TRACE MODE 6 industrial controller programming system. This driver is designed to connect WinCon 8000 controller to sensors and flowmeters using a popular HART protocol. 
Like any software each TRACE MODE version has its life cycle and, after passing it, each version becomes “old”. TRACE MODE 5 is an old version. Its development was stopped in 2004.
In the SCADA TRACE MODE 6.04 the support of Mitsubishi controllers using FX Computer Link and DeviceNet protocols was improved. The new driver is now integrated in the TRACE MODE 6.04 development system.
