Like any other software product, each version of TRACE MODE has its own life cycle, and upon expiry of the same, it becomes "old". We call "old", those programs, for which a newer version is available. Because the old versions of the software are closed for development, Adastra recommends users to renew their programs on favorable conditions, using the TRACE MODE upgrade system.
Nowadays Adastra produces and develops the current TRACE MODE 6 version. The sales volume of the old TRACE MODE 5 version becomes lower and lower each year (development of TRACE MODE 5 stopped in 2004.). In 2007 the TRACE MODE 5 sales was only 30%. The sales of TRACE MODE 5 development system fell to 24%. According to our forecasts, the share of the old TRACE MODE 5 version in SCADA TRACE MODE sales structure will fall below 10% in 2008.
This fact force us to conclusion that at the present time the new sixth TRACE MODE version has nearly totally replaced the previous fifth version.
Summarizing all facts we announce the completion of TRACE MODE 5 “market life” and stop the sales of TRACE MODE 5 development systems (profession line) for new users since March 2008. Our old TRACE MODE 5 users can obtain software on demand. We will continue spreading the free TRACE MODE 5 (base line) version for a while.
In accordance with Adastra rules, the TRACE MODE 5 runtime modules will be supplied 10 years after the completion of the version development, i.e., until 2014 inclusively.
The technical support for the users of the old versions is performed on the conditions, determined by the EULA, enclosed to each software copy. |
