SCADA TRACE MODE 6 in Control System of European Nuclear Power Plants

A Moscow-based SNIIP-SISTEMATOM company has set up an automated system to control the neutron current in reactors of the 3rd and 4th power units at Bogunitse nuclear power plant (Slovakia). The new control system has been developed using Russian made SCADA/HMI software TRACE MODE 6.

The information system provides the following features:

  • real-time data acquisition and history logging for the neutron current physical parameters;
  • protections control;
  • alarm reporting on protections status;

TRACE MODE in neutron flow control system of the Bogunice nuclear power plantAn intuitive TRACE MODE 6 based HMI helps the Bogunitse nuclear power plant operators in following:

  • to view the real time data easily (HMI);
  • to make logs of analog and digital signals in the SCADA TRACE MODE built-in database (without using external databases);
  • to navigate the logged data using trends and alarm reports;
  • to convert data archives for the set time period to the open format for creating protocols and graphs in MS Excel.

TRACE MODE in neutron flow control system of the Bogunice nuclear power plant

The system is based on industrial Pentium M 1.8 and 15” LCD workstation WS-855A from ICP Electronics with a pre-installed SCADA TRACE MODE runtime software RTM+. The RTM communicates with I/O via OPC server

The overall system cycle for the nuclear power plant control system is within 100 ms, meeting the technical requirements for this class of systems.

The Bogunitse nuclear power plant has deployed this control system  rapidly within the nuclear power plant equipment upgrade program. To ensure quick and quality execution of the project, the SNIIP-SISTEMAATOM engineers had training on developing control systems using SCADA at the Authorized TRACE MODE Training Centre.

A similar project has been also developed for Mokhovtse nuclear power plant (Slovakia).

SCADA TRACE MODE 6.05 Now Avaiable

On January 30, 2007, a new release of the integrated SCADA-system TRACE MODE 6.05 has been made available, both in Professional and Standard editions.

TRACE MODE SCADA/HMI Ensures The Vegetable Oil Refinery Automatic Batching And Fail-Safe Operation!

The vegetable oil refinery Volshebniy Kray (Russia) is the largest player in this industry across the southern regions of Russia and is a part of the agricultural group Aston. The plant opted for TRACE MODE 6 SCADA/HMI to provide a control system for automatic batching and supplying of vegetable oil.

The new SCADA TRACE MODE-based control system delivers around-the-clock control capability for asynchronous oil batching from 4 tanks.

It took just one week and one control engineer resources to develop a human machine interface for the new automatic batching system.

HART Driver for Micro TRACE MODE 6 to Connect HART Devices and WinCon 8000

AdAstrA Research Group, Ltd made available an external driver for Micro TRACE MODE 6 industrial controller programming system. This driver is designed to connect WinCon 8000 controller to sensors and flowmeters using a popular HART protocol.

The Kristall distillery in Moscow was one of the first factories to deploy the HART driver for WinCon 8000. Previously, Micro TRACE MODE 6 for WinCon 8000 was shipped only with the integrated drivers for Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, DCS, etc.

Like any software each TRACE MODE version has its life cycle and, after passing it, each version becomes “old”. TRACE MODE 5 is an old version.  Its development was stopped in 2004.

The New 25 MW Gas-Engine Heat and Power Plant at Chukotka Running Under TRACE MODE 6 SCADA/HMI

Belelektromontazhnaladka company team has successfully implemented the control system of the gas-engine heat and power plant in Anadyr city (Extreme Nord of Russia). The total power capacity of the gas-engine heat and power plant is 25 MW.

At the operator level of new control system, TRACE MODE SCADA/HMI software is used, while Mitsubishi Electric controllers are used at the hardware level. The control system covers the heat and power processes of the heat and power station and enables control over power supply, ventilation, heating, domestic and hot water supply, water conditioning, heat recovery, fire safety and the fuel and lubricant warehouse.

Russian Made TRACE MODE SCADA Software Deployed in Power Supply Control of Gazprom's Volkhovskaya Compressor Plant

On July 2, 2007, ELNA company (Moscow) launched the power supply control system at the Volkhovskaya compressor station, a part of the land-based section in the Nord Stream gas pipeline.

The power supply control system of the Volkhovskaya compressor station was developed using the most efficient and advanced technology of integrated project development. System Integration Department at AdAstra Research Group, Ltd worked closely with the team to help develop the new control system.
